about me

Upon high school graduation, I received my first 35mm camera. An Argus C-3 (brick), and it get me started in the exciting field of photography. Since then, I have been privileged to have lived in three countries, and a camera has been with me at all times.
The countries lived in included Spain, China, and Singapore.

I was stationed in Spain, with the US Air Force, and after purchasing a car, traveled throughout the country on my time off. Returning to America, and working many different jobs, one of which let me move to China.

My Chinese wife made the time there quite interesting, as I would let her know where I wanted to go, and she would get us there and back. Every Saturday, we would hop on a train, and go somewhere.

Then there was Singapore, and being an island, there wasn't much there to see, but we did our best to see all we could.

Back in Ohio we got involved with Facebook groups and that led to finding many waterfalls in the State, plus a wealth of beauty here.

In the coming days, we will be travelling around to different spots, and States, too. So, stay connected, and bookmark this site to see what we uncover.
My first love is Jesus, and my faith in Him. My second love is creativity as expressed in artistic endeavors in light and sound.
I have two main passions in life - music and photography.
Music has always been with me, and I have tried playing various instruments, among them the clarinet, tuba, guitar and bass guitar. Dabbled a bit with piano, but never got the hang of it. Was in many different bands, the most successful was A band called "Tomfoolery". We had many good times, and some not so good times, with many excellent memories of our time together. The pinnacle of my music career came when I had the honor of running sound for The Glen Miller Orchestra here in Wooster a few years back.
Photography grabbed me early on, and really took off when I received my first 35mm camera (an Argus C-3) for high school graduation. Since then I have owned many different cameras in 35mm, medium format (Mamiya C-220), and even a dinky "spy" camera that was just plain flimsy, so I took it back. My favorite camera, by far was the Alpa 10d I bought in 1972, and still have toay. Now that the film industry has gone digital, I miss the crispness of film, and long for its return. Most of the images presented here are from digital cameras, plus an android phone thrown in for good measure. Believe it or not, the phone has better resolution than my Canon 550D (Rebel T2I in America) that I got while in Singapore.
I have been fortunate to have lived in three different countries, and availed ourselves of the opportunity of see as much of those countries as possible. A lot of my pictures look gloomy, as the weather on the days we went out was not the best. In fact, most of the time in China it was raining, Then there was the smog, which made it look like a foggy day when it was actually clear! Nevertheless, we got out and captured what we could while enjoying each others company.
These pictures are presented here for your enjoyment, and I hope you can see a place you have dreamt about, or wished you could be there. If it brings a tear to your eye, and makes you glad, then my job has its reward there. All images are for sale should you want one, and can be downloaded upon completion of the transaction. Also, if you are more inclined to support my work through a donation, I have set up a Patreon account where you can do that as well. All you would need to do is click on the "Be My Patron" in the header above, choose your level of commitment, and you're all set. It would be so nice to be able to travel throughout America, and capture the sights for presentation here.
This brings me to my last passion, driving! I love to drive, and my goal is to travel around the country visiting the sights of which there are so many! Of course, they will be offered here for your perusal. With the support of a few people who want to be generous, I can achieve this.
All in all, I thank you for your visits, and cherish your comments on any picture here.
